de <\/span>Scolopendra dehaani \u201cMint Leg\u201d<\/strong>. This is a beautiful color variant of the notorious\u00a0S. dehaani<\/em>, recognizable by the unique greenish-bluish (mint-colored) legs.<\/div>\n

  • Terrarium:<\/strong>\u00a0Minimum\u00a040x30x30 cm<\/strong>. The lid must\u00a0100% escape-proof<\/strong> and preferably lockable; they are extremely strong and simply push loose lids open.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Substrate:<\/strong>\u00a0A thick layer (10-15 cm) of a mix of coconut fiber, peat, and sphagnum moss. They dig a lot and need deep soil to feel safe.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Setup:<\/strong> Provide cork bark, leaves, and hiding places on the ground.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Temperature:<\/strong>\u00a0Between\u00a024\u00b0C and 28\u00b0C<\/strong>. Optionally use a heating mat on the side<\/em> of the terrarium.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Humidity:<\/strong>\u00a0High, around\u00a075-80%<\/strong>. Keep the substrate moist (not soaking wet). Good ventilation is essential to prevent mold and mites.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Water:<\/strong> A shallow water bowl with fresh water must always be present.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • Diet:<\/strong>\u00a0Crickets, grasshoppers, and dubia cockroaches. They have a huge appetite and grow fast.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Frequency:<\/strong> Adult animals eat once a week. Remove prey that is not eaten immediately so as not to endanger the centipede during a potential molt.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Behavior & Safety (Important!)<\/strong><\/div>\n

        • Character:<\/strong>\u00a0Just like the regular\u00a0dehaani<\/em>\u00a0the \u201cMint Leg\u201d\u00a0extremely defensive, fast, and aggressive<\/strong>. They do not hesitate to attack.<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Handling:<\/strong>\u00a0Absolutely do not handle.<\/strong>\u00a0The venom is potent and causes intense pain, swelling, and nausea. Always use long feeding tweezers (at least 30 cm).<\/span><\/li>\n
