housing
  • Terrarium: Minimum 40x30x30 cm. The enclosure must be absolutely escape-proof. These centipedes are extremely powerful and can reach unexpectedly high.
  • Substrate: A thick layer (10-15 cm) of moist substrate consisting of coconut fiber, unfertilized potting soil, and peat moss. They like to dig tunnels to create their own microclimate.
  • Setup: Use cork bark, flat stones, and dried leaves for natural hiding places.
climate
  • Temperature: During the day between 25°C and 29°C. Avoid temperatures above 30°C for extended periods.
  • Humidity: High, around 75-80%. Regularly mist a section of the terrarium, but create a gradient so that there is also a slightly drier spot.
  • Ventilation: Ensure good airflow; Stagnant, excessively humid air can lead to fungal infections (mycosis) on the exoskeleton.
food
  • Diet: Active hunters that eat crickets, grasshoppers, and dubia cockroaches.
  • Frequency: Young animals every 3-4 days, adult animals once a week. This variant is known for a fierce hunting style.
Behavior & Safety (Crucial!)
